One injury reported when train hits truck

One person was injured when a train struck a pickup truck over the weekend in Mahoning Township.

Northwest Lawrence Regional Police said the injured person, a passenger in the vehicle, was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown. The name of the passenger was not available.

The driver fled the scene of the accident on foot. The accident occurred shortly after 7 p.m. Saturday at Robinson’s Crossing, according to police. The gates at the crossing were down at the time, officers added.

Police are continuing their investigation.
